Long Walks

(Scott AFB, IL) Hi 84 Lo 51 --  It was a down day, the first we’ve had in a while, so we didn’t plan anything. We just let the day progress as we felt like doing something.

I did forget to put in a picture from yesterday’s visit to my friend Ruth’s. They have an outside kitty and the food dish is on the porch next to the door. A robin keeps coming up to eat. Ruth's cat watches it, no problem, but if there’s another cat around he stands his ground and fights it off. It’s pretty funny to watch.



We both decided to go on a long walk today. There’s a six mile running path that goes completely around the runway and circles the entire base. I’ve always wanted to try to walk it. Today I went two miles, so maybe by the end of the three weeks here I’ll be able to walk the whole thing. We see walkers (and runners) on it all the time.

Jim is taking the grandboys to see a sneak preview tonight of the movie “The Avengers”. They're so excited that they'll get to brag to their schoolmates that they saw the movie more than a week before it opens. So I have an evening to myself. I plan to catch up on blogs, recorded TV shows, and of course the chat room.
