Visiting With our North Carolina Friends

(Avon Park, FL) Hi 52 Lo 28 -- It got cold last night, but between the heat pump and the furnace we stayed toasty. It's still real windy but we're not rocking like yesterday.

Jim usually does the laundry on Mondays, but he did it today since it's going to be a few days before he would have another chance. I sorted through some of mom's paperwork that we have, to send to my sister, then cleaned the RV.

Some of our North Carolina friends are in Orlando for an amateur radio "hamfest." We made arrangements to meet them for dinner at an Olive Garden in Orlando. We've known this group since 1999 when we met them at a ham radio club in Raleigh, and have stayed friends ever since. They gave us a lot of support when we decided to go on the road, and we always look forward to getting together with them when we get back to North Carolina. It was nice to see them on "our turf."

Around the table from the left are Cliff, Selene, Hank, Cyndi, Gary, and Jim

We love to talk about technology, so we all compared smartphones and shared our favorite apps.

After stuffing ourselves we drove a couple of blocks to a Steak and Shake for dessert... milkshakes all around! Mmmm... It was so great to see everyone, and we hated to part. But we finally headed home and got in around 9:30.

Thank you dear friends for a wonderful evening!

Hard to beat the Olive Garden for Italian. Great to see you met up with friends from your old turf, always neat to catch up with what's been going on back home. Have a great week!
