Another Day at the VA Hospital

(Avon Park, FL) Hi 71  Lo 35 -- A very cold morning, and very un-Florida like. It was 37 degrees at 7am when we started out for Tampa. We stopped for breakfast at IHOP; just can't give up that Hash Brown Stacker with the tomato, egg, spinach and holandaise sauce. It's just so good and stays with you for hours.

We got to the Veterans Hospital a little after 9am for Jim's periodic check on his Coumadin levels. It surprises me so much how many people flow in and out of that hospital and knowing they are all veterans. It's very busy and sometimes there's a lot of waiting around, but once we get to see someone the care is excellent. We were done and out of there a little before noon.

We made a quick stop at Walmart and got home around 3:00. Jon and Kathleen stopped by on their daily walk and we visited for awhile. We have a big afternoon and evening planned with them tomorrow. Tonight after dinner we went over to the clubhouse to play cards. We really enjoy that and will probably try to make it a regular Monday night activity.

Glad you have good medical care. My brothers love the VA care in Milwaukee and Cincinnati, but I don't think my son in NY is too happy with the one he uses.

Seems that the VA is either really good or really bad. Glad you got the good stuff. Our Monday night is cribbage at the clubhouse. Lots of fun.

We are in Sarasota and yes it sure was cold yesterday. It should start warming up soon. VA is great! Next week we are going to MacDill AFB FamCamp, it should be warm by then.

I've heard a lot of good things about that hospital.
