(Avon Park, FL) Hi 75 Lo 60 -- Today was spent getting some much-needed preventive maintenance done on my car. We've put on 2,202 miles since December 1 when we arrived. Money-wise I'm glad we have it to drive instead of having to drive Jim's diesel truck around town. A local Ford dealer advertises oil changes for $15 so we took them up on it. That price also included a complete fluid and filter check. They said we need a new air cleaner but didn't have one in stock for our car (it's a Toyota at a Ford dealer after all). :) So we stopped by the local Advanced Auto Parts store and got an air filter and also replaced the windshield wipers. So now it's all set for another few thousand miles. One thing we love about this area is the "small town living." It's great to be able to use local merchants. The prices are cheaper than in the bigger cities, and it seems like we get better customer service.
After a few more errands we came back to the RV. I read a few blogs and then tried to look up Jon on Facebook so I could invite him to be my friend. I couldn't find him so I gave up, and about 10 minutes later he came to the door. Talk about timing! We visited with him for awhile and then his wife Kathleen came looking for him, so we had a great visit with both of them. We didn't go the park meeting on Monday morning so Kathleen filled us in. Jon wanted to talk to us about our Verizon MiFi internet device. They're having a lot of trouble staying connected on the park wi-fi and he's looking for other options.
It was cloudy and cool out so we didn't sit outside today. We watched some TV and I worked on pictures and read blogs, then went into the chatroom. It feels good getting so much done today.

I think you got MiFi a little while before I did, so you must be approaching the end of your 2 yr contract. Are you going to stay with MiFi, or have you researched any newer versions of internet connection? I like the MiFi and really haven't had any problems staying within the 5GB bandwidth limit, but it sure is nice when I take my computer over to my daughter's house and just turn it on.
Gypsy, our contract ran out a while ago. We're keeping it month-to-month for now. We may upgrade it to a 4G model eventually. Jim
We have the 4G MiFi - got it last September. Only problem is, Verizon hasn't got very many of their towers converted to 4G so we are usually operating off of 3G.
Nice to have a day where you get lots of stuff marked off the to-do list.
