Saying "See you Later" to Friends

(Avon Park, FL) Hi 85 Lo 60 -- We did a lot of computer work today. It's been such a busy week I haven't had time to do the January budget. Again we're way over on the food budget. We bought a lot of groceries and also went out quite a bit this month. That's never a good way to stay within the budget. Those little "let's get a snack" lunches added up. The rest is about on target, so we're doing good overall. The cost of gas for my car was pretty high, mainly because of the trips back and forth to Tampa Veterans Hospital. Jim did our taxes today, and we're getting a small refund. That's a relief.

Several months ago Jim bought a small external hard drive as an extra back-up for our laptops. He didn't like the back-up software that came installed on it. And it wouldn't allow him to delete the software and use it as an empty hard drive. After doing a lot of online research he finally found some workaround instructions on how to erase the drive. So today I put on all our photos on it. Now we have all of our photos backed up on two external hard drives plus DVD's. Jim also has his music (30 GB) backed up on the two drives and his iPod. After backing them up I deleted all of the 2011 pictures from my laptop, making room for our 2012 adventures. I added an album of our Disney World pictures to the right side of the blog. It's the resorts and outlaying areas, along with the Ft. Wilderness campground.

Jim went to the Avon Park library for awhile and when he got back we did our walk and then sat outside a couple of hours. It's been a long time since I sat and watched the clouds, so today was one of those days when I looked for animal shapes and other formations. It was just a relaxing day. I was going to take a picture, but that would have woke Jim up from his afternoon snooze in his lounge chair. What a life, huh?

Later in the afternoon we went to Elaine and Rick's to say goodbye. They're leaving tomorrow to see more of of Florida then make their way back to Canada this spring. It's been great getting to know them. Thanks for the good times guys... God speed, and stay safe!

We sure know about "getting a bite to eat" out lunches. Sure adds up! But sometimes those places are really fun, too. Like somewhere out on the water...Good for you for just sitting and watching the clouds! I have to make myself sit still sometimes to see those things and appreciate that I still have my vision to see them!
