(Avon Park, FL) Hi 76 Lo 65 -- It was cloudy and threatening to rain all day. We didn't do much today. We both just chilled out this morning, then Jim left for an appointment with the dentist for a "deep scraping." They had to anesthetize his whole mouth for it. He was told to eat a good lunch because he wouldn't feel like eating much at dinner time. That's a good excuse to order sandwiches from our favorite place across the highway from the park.
Late this morning we got a call from our older son Frank. Both of our sons met up at Indianapolis on Sunday for the Super Bowl. They didn't have tickets but they wanted to experience the atmosphere of the downtown area for the day. They had a ball! He said the prices were out of sight. A ball cap was $40, parking was $60 and up, and some of the bars charged as much as a $50 cover charge just to come in to watch the game. They were able to find a place that charged "only" $10. We followed them both on Facebook on Sunday, but it was nice to hear him tell all about it.
While Jim was gone I did a full cleaning of the RV and did some spot carpet cleaning. I'm so glad it doesn't take long to clean. I went for the mail and on the way back I ran into Kathleen and invited her to come over til Jim came home. I keep forgetting what day it is, so again I missed card playing last night. We have a very busy schedule and I have to keep looking at my watch to see what DAY it is. I'm beginning to think I better get that clock that gives the day, then I'll have to remember to look at it. What a wonderful lifestyle!
We have our first reservations for the summer. We'll be back in the St. Louis area at the Scott AFB, IL Famcamp on April 23rd. We'll be there for a few weeks and visit mom and sis while there. We're not going to set deadlines as much as we did last year. We only have two very important dates and that's April 28 (our son's 40th birthday) and June 3 (our granddaughter's high school graduation). It's Jim's turn to plan the summer, and I'm getting excited about where we'll be and what we'll be doing.
Nothing else much going on today.

Kathy and I are planning on getting two of those 7 day clocks. One for the trailer and one for the apartment. It's bad when you have to keep asking someone what day it is. Isn't retirement great!
It's about time.

It will be great to have a relaxing summer - not that the hectic ones aren't fun too, but we can't live at that pace forever!
So Jim is planning the summer. I am not allowed to plan anything...If I do it wont be right so I just let Sherri tell me what to plan.
Joe and Sherri
Not retired but still some times have to ask what day it is and where do I have to be.
Can understand your sons wanting to be in Indy, many came to st louis during world series as they said to feel the vibe and atmosphere and believe me prices for parking etc went up drastically here. Some complained to the city, but were told its a private business they can charge what they think they can get
We are hoping to be in florida sometime in April to see Paul and Helen and their furkids, but hope we can hook up w/ you for a least a couple of times.
we also need a 'day' clock...I usually check the calendar on the computer to see what day it is lol,,,they seem to slide by pretty fast...hope Jim made out good at the dentist and wasn't too sore from the procedure...
