A Visit With the Dentist

(Avon Park, FL) Hi 70 Lo 50 -- The wind was cool, but the sun was warm, so it depends on where you were if you got a cool breeze or you got really warm. We love Florida.

I went to a dentist in Avon Park last year and really like him, so I made an appointment for today for both me and Jim. Our appointment was at 10:30 and with all the x-rays, checking, and cleaning we didn't get out till 12:00. All I had done was a cleaning, but the gal must have gone too deep in the gum because it's still hurting. I'm hoping no infection sets in. I hate going to a doctor and feeling worse when I leave than I felt when I got there. Jim has to have some more work done, so he'll be going back a couple more times before we leave the area. This dentist does have the latest and greatest in equipment. They can even do a crown with a special machine and it will be done in an hour. Very impressive!

We went to Arby's for lunch, did a couple of more errands, and got home in time to play some shuffleboard with Elaine, Jon, Debbie, Ken, and Rick. It was so nice out. I need to get up earlier to join the 10am shuffleboard group so I can play daily.

I came home and remembered tomorrow there's a salad potluck, so I looked up a couple of recipes and made a broccoli salad to bring. By the time I finished that, it was time for dinner.

We had a ball playing cards last night. We have to actively plan some activities once in while, otherwise we'd never move from the computers. There's so much we do with games, web surfing, or reading that we'd probably never go outside if we didn't schedule some activities. :)  I'm so glad we're in an active park with such nice people.

Hope your gum feels better, a one hour crown sure beats two weeks, and needing a temporary that you have to worry about coming off. I love all kinds of salads so would sure enjoy that salad potluck. Nice to be in a park that offers so many activities.

How are your gums now? The discomfort wears off after a while. Still, I suppose one reason why people feel tense around the dentist is that they dread the aftermath. On the other hand, it's way better in the long run, since the teeth get fixed.
