Thunderbird Flea Market

(Ft. Lauderdale, FL)  Hi 77 Lo 67 -- We wanted to get our RV washed so we asked our neighbor Jim Guld who he would recommend. He introduced us to Max, just a few RV's down from us, and said he'd do a great job. So we hired him. He was here at 10:00 this morning to start work. I went for groceries while Jim stayed here to make sure Max was ok on the roof. (click on the pictures to make them larger)

He worked until 4:30pm and did a wonderful job. The RV looks the cleanest it's looked since we bought it two years ago. It’s shiny nice! Thanks Max for a job well done!

After Max was done with the roof and started on the sides we felt ok leaving him on his own, so we decided to go to the Thunderbird Flea Market, which is only a couple of miles from us. It's one of the biggest flea markets in the state. We went over to see if Chris and Jim would like to go. Chris was involved with some of her computer projects, but Jim decided to go with us. The flea market complex is huge, and includes a 14-screen drive-in theater. There's a huge indoor flea market and hundreds of booths outside all around the drive-in theaters..

A view from the overpass from the parking lot. The yellow building is the indoor flea market. There’s also an amusement park along the one side of the building. It’s open seven days a week, but busier on weekends.

The outdoor flea market. You can see some of the drive-in theater screens.

Neat tables, check out the legs.

The whole market had a very international feel. There was a huge Cuban vibe, with latin music in the air and many things not found in the flea markets we’ve been to up north. There’s also a huge farmers market, with foods that I've never seen before. The prices were great and I did get a few items.

And I just couldn’t  pass this up. Grilled pineapple is great eating.

When we got home I made dinner from Thanksgiving leftovers and we settled down for the rest of the evening. The flea market was a great addition to this weeks activities. There’s more to come in our great lifestyle.
