A VERY Productive Day

(NC State Fairgrounds, Raleigh, NC)  Hi 79 Lo 67 -- We finally got some sun, with storms clouds around but no rain here. I give a public thank you to all the people in the healthcare system that we've been dealing with. Without their patience and care this time in our lives would be impossible to deal with. I'd also like to thank my hubby, Jim, for the wonderful support he's given me. It's been a challenge and something I didn't think I'd have to deal with. But a lot of people our age goes through it.

We had an appointment at mom's apartment at 11:00 to meet with the pastor of mom's church. He brought two colleagues with him to see what they could use from mom's apartment. They have families that are in need and I figured they'd pick up a few items we had for them. They looked everything over and determined they could use a lot more than we initially thought. By 1:00 the whole apartment was cleaned out except for clothes, the bed, mom's craft supplies, and a lot of small knick-knacks. They took some furniture, dishes, kitchen items, food, and bedding. We're thrilled that everything will be put to good use by families in need.

We went to lunch and came back to pack up the stuff mom wanted at her new home at Carillon Assisted Living. We loaded everything in my car and Jim's truck and took it about 19 miles to Fuquay-Varina. We used back roads so we could go slow. We took some time to arrange everything in her new home so she'll feel comfortable when she arrives tomorrow morning. Here's the door to her room with her new name plate next to the door.

We stopped on the way home to pick up a couple of items mom wanted that she doesn't currently have. We dodged quite a bit of State Fair traffic on the way to our campground. It's perfect weather so I'm sure the fair had a great start today. We'll get to go one day next week, but tomorrow mom will be moved into her new digs.  We're excited and I hope she is too.

Wow you guys sure made short work of the contents of the apartment. Congratulations on its completion! It pays to have an organized person doing this.
