Jim's Birthday

(Scott AFB, IL) Hi 64  Lo 57 -- It was cool and rainy all day, an all around nasty day. It's also Jim's birthday today. I went to visit Ruth late this morning. She and her husband Butch are leaving tomorrow for Wisconsin Dells for a week, so I wanted to say bye to her since we're leaving the area on Tuesday. While I was gone son Frank came over to spend some time with Jim. They intended to watch the Cardinals baseball game on TV, but it was delayed due to the rain. So we all tried to figure out the new changes to Facebook. I can't believe there's so much new on Facebook. I don't like the changes, it's not  something older people like to do (change).

After Frank left we watched TV for awhile, and then I took Jim out for a steak dinner for his birthday. We went to a local place called Andrea's Steakhouse. Andria's was here when we lived here in the early 80's. It's known for the best steaks around. Jim loves steak, so I thought of going as soon as I knew we were going to be in the area on his birthday. I'm not a steak lover so I had chicken sauteed in white wine and mushrooms, which wasn't like I expected. I won't get it again. Jim was very happy with his steak, and when we were done they gave us a small birthday cake for dessert.

On the way home we saw this wonderful sunset with a bright red sky, and clouds that looked like mountains in the distance.
