Too Hot to Do Anything

(Oconto, WI) Hi 90 Lo 70 – Today it was very hot and humid for this area. We didn’t plan anything and were glad we didn’t. It was just too hot to do anything. Steve said it’s very abnormal for this area to be this humid.  The guys (Steve and Jim) took a ride down the Oconto river in Steve's small boat.  Here’s a few pictures Jim took...

If you click on this picture to enlarge it you'll see a blue heron sitting on the bank.

Capt Steve at the helm.

The river was so low they had to row the boat through some shallow and rocky sections, but Jim really enjoyed it. He said it made him want to watch the movie "Deliverance". :)

While they were gone Karen taught me how to knit a hat.

When they got back it was so hot no one wanted to do anything. The a/c in the RV was barely keeping us cool and their house doesn’t have a/c. They do have a portable a/c unit in their basement, which does a good job.

So this is where we sat and visited most of the afternoon...

We went out for a quick dinner at Subway in town.  On the way home we saw a few deer. This one just stood and watched us.

Also on the way home Steve took us through Holtwood RV Park, which is owned by the city of Oconto.  The park was full of fishing boats that are in a walleye fishing tournament being held in Oconto. This group has more money tied up in their boats than they do their pickup camper.

We’re going to get up early tomorrow morning to wash the RV from roof to tires. It’s really needing a good bath and we’ll try to get it done before it gets too hot.  If you want more info on today from a different perspective, see Karen’s blog.

Hot here too so we aren't doing much of anything either. If we're doing anything it's early in the morning. Good luck washing the rig tomorrow.

Early might work for washing the rig. I think this entire week is going to be very HOT! :(
BTW, before you leave, be sure to have a fish boil if you can. They are very popular in Door County (close to you) and are really good eating :)
