(Sudbury, Ontario, Canada) Hi 84 Lo 59 – We were up early, went to breakfast at Myrt's Restaurant, which is where we had dinner the other night, and then hitched up and headed out. We must say, Sid Turcotte Park is really nice, but just doesn't have the "it" factor for us.
The 200-mile trip to Sudbury was 4 1/2 hours and it was very enjoyable. The road was great and traffic was light. The road we were on, Canada Hwy 17, goes to three lanes every few miles so the traffic that piles up behind us can get past us at different intervals. The terrain was very pretty and so different. It's a combination of rocky and forested. There’s some hills and prairies too, so it's a great variety of scenery. Here's some photos.
We went along the northern edge of Lake Nipissing, which is huge!
Rock formations along the highway.
Forest.
We saw signs welcoming us to Greater Sudbury long before we got to Sudbury proper. Greater Sudbury is the largest city in Ontario, by geographical area (but not by population... that would be Toronto). It's like Jacksonville, FL (which is the largest city in the continental U.S. in area, by the way), in that they incorporated a huge land area... hundreds of square miles.
Carol’s Campsite is really nice. It’s open and we’re right beside Richard Lake. We’re backed up to another RV, but the view out our side window is very nice. There's a nice sandy beach, and also a couple of boat docks. (click on pictures to make larger)

Now the best part... We have good internet and Satellite reception, so we're back connected to the world! We’re set and loving it. You get 30 mins of free wi-fi every second day, or you can buy extra service for $10 for 48 hours or $20 for seven days. We’ll be here till Thursday morning, so to cover Wednesdays blog and get online Thursday I got the seven day package.
Tonight we’ll catch up on everything we've missed online the last four days. I can get back on chat too. I’m hoping to get back on chat with my mom too. It seems like it’s been forever since we’ve heard from the outside world. Ok, it’s not that bad, but we’re both very happy to use our computers for more than games. Are we spoiled, or what?

glad you are back on line and having some "civilization" ...
just remember, when you get here, it will be quiet, rural, a river down behind the house, a corn field across the road and some cows up the road!
