(Wauchula, FL) Hi 67 Lo 45 -- It was colder this morning when we got up, and we both heard the furnace come on a couple times during the night. The heat pump runs until the outside temperature gets to the low- to mid-40's, then the propane furnace takes over. The colder air usually only lasts a couple days in Florida, and we're used to it now.
This morning I worked on some travel routes for this summer. I didn't read but a few blogs today, I think I'm caught up. I chatted with mom on Yahoo messenger then cleaned up the RV a bit. Jim dumped the tanks. He's on a routine of dumping the tanks once a week. We can go longer, but it's easier to remember when he does it the same day each week. Later in the afternoon we went to get some groceries and decided to try Sweet Bay, a store on the other side of Wauchula. It's a great store, but we probably won't go there too often, their prices are higher than Winn Dixie and Wal-Mart.
I've been checking in on a cool website that has a live cam on a nest of bald eagles. I watched for a while today. The mama eagle has laid three eggs. The eagle couple takes turns sitting on the eggs and turns them every couple hours to keep them equally warm on all sides. It's fun watching how they work together with the nest sitting. The eggs should hatch around March 13-18. They were laid a few days apart. All of this information, and much more about eagles, is on a Q&A chat to the right of the cam picture. I spent a couple of hours watching and reading. If you're at all interested in eagles I highly recommend the site, but it could be habit-forming. :) Here's the site:

The NASCAR racing season starts today, and boy are we ready! We're settled in for the evening to watch the Budweiser Shootout from Daytona. Boogity-boogity, let's go racing boys!

Right here watching the Bud Shootout with ya!
Here's the Hornsby Eagle website we followed last year-you may want to check it out. It was addictive for us last spring watching the eggs being laid (one never hatched) then "Phoenix" growing up before our eyes before tragically dying of a respiratory ailment after a few months. This site has a huge, faithful following.

We have Peregrine Falcons that nest on our city hall and are watched by a web cam. I was really into watching the first two years, but it became less interesting by the third year.
But you have to admit bird watching on the computer is neat.
Love the Eagle cams. Thanks for the info

I would think this would eat up a lot of my MBs on Verizon. What does it do to yours.
We have eagles that next in some tall pines either down the road or up the river each year (they rotate their nests) Usually 2 or 3 babies at a time. It's really cool once they learn to fly and the parents teach them diving into the river for fish. It's Kindergarten Fishing Lessons here.. haha
