(Wauchula, FL) - It started out chilly, but it sure warmed up fast to 75 degrees. There's another cold front coming in and our weather bug says a freeze is on the way. What's up with that? It's FLORIDA. It won't last long.
I want to thank everyone for the comments on the hangers from yesterdays blog. I think I'll make a few for those that may want some, but I won't be doing it as a major project.
We both did a half hour walk today then watched a short rain shower come through the area. We spent some time on our computers, and Jim is always finding neat "apps" to load on our Droid phones. Street View for google Maps is an awesome app. We use that on our main PCs as part of our trip planning. Jim lets Google Maps give us the route, then he uses Street View to look at the types of roads and intersections we'll encounter. Having that ability on our phones will be handy when we're actually on the road. Speaking of maps, we recently saw an episode of "How Do They Do It" that explained how GPS works. It was very interesting. For instance, we know that the system uses satellites to determine your location. But what we didn't know is, they determine location by calculating the amount of time it takes for a signal to reach the earth and return to the satellite. And each satellite has multiple atomic clocks to precisely determine the time. So cool!
Jim checked our position on the SKP Resort site waiting list. If you remember, we put a deposit down to purchase a site in the future. We've already moved up six spots, from 172 to 166. We may be in quicker than we thought. Of course, we don't know how often they update it. We sure aren't in any hurry.
We met some new friends today at shuffleboard. They're also moving some park models around and brought in a couple new ones. It seems there's always something going on around here. The biggest talk is all the people still coming in the next few weeks. It will be getting busy.
We have quite a few things going on this month, stay tuned from our site in paradise.
