Rock-a-By Baby

(Wauchula, FL --  Hi 55 Lo 30 - It's been very windy all night and all day today. Sustained winds are about 25mph and gusts as high as 40mph at times. We've been rocking and rolling.  Jim brought down the TV antenna. There's carpets, flags and several little items flying around the park.

We stayed in today. I was thinking of taking down all the Christmas decorations, but figured what's the hurry? Instead, we watched several episodes of "Modern Marvels" on History channel.  Among the things we learned about are potatoes, eggs, whiskey, and coin-operated machines.  Jim checked in on the football games occasionally, and  I chatted with mom on the Yahoo chat.  Before we knew it it was dinner time.

Today is one of those days we don't have anything to blog about, but I'm not breaking my streak of daily blogs just because it was an inactive day.  We made some plans for the next few weeks for some sightseeing, meeting up with other RV'ers in the area, and checking out some other parks.  We've made reservations for five days in April at our favorite park at the Naval Station in Mayport, FL near Jacksonville.  That will be the start of our journey back north.  On the way we want to take some time to see Charleston, SC.  And along the way we'll visit with Jim's family and my mom and friends in NC.  We're still working on the time line for our trip to Canada this summer.

We have a New Years Eve party and a bean and cornbread lunch at the clubhouse this weekend. It'll be interesting to see how many at the party make it to midnight.  Jim suggested we celebrate the new year for Rio, which will be 9pm here. :)

It will be a cold night, but nothing like our friends up north.  We just hope the wind subsides a bit.  If not, we'll be rockin' and rollin' in paradise.

I'm also wondering how many folks will last 'til midnight here at Rock Crusher Canyon on New Years Eve. Since I'm DJing the event I don't want to be playing for just the two of us. :-)) Last year we had about 40 folks last 'til the ball dropped.

Dee would you send me an email at ali1257@gmail.com so I can ask you some questions....I couldn't find a way to email you directly...my questions have to do with making your own widget...I can follow directions but I don't even know where to start. Thanks Ali

PS 9PM sounds like a good time to toast the new year...we will be with our grandsons so am sure we will definitely do it on "our" time.

If I remember right, NAS Jax has a campground also. You might check it out although it won't be on the beach like Mayport. Have fun be safe out there. Sam & Donna..

Jim's idea is a good one. We thought we'd celebrate with our daughter in Italy...that would make it 6PM here! After that, it won't matter what time we fall asleep. One of us has been known to fall asleep by 7:30! ;)
