Busy with Stuff that Had to Get Done

(Wauchula, FL) -- Hi 53 Lo 35 - It was chilly this morning, but warmed up fast. The talk everywhere is the weather and how much snow everyone up north is getting.  The northeast is snowed in, and even Raleigh, NC where we had thought we'd stay this winter is under seven inches of snow.  It's the first white Christmas in Raleigh ever, dating back to when they started recording weather in the late 1800's.  We're so glad we decided to spend the winter in Florida.

After coffee and our morning routine we started on our tasks for the day. The less I do the less I wanna do, so it took some energy to get moving.  First was defrosting the freezer.  It hasn't been done in awhile and with the bad seal on the freezer door the frost was really starting to build up.  Jim did the laundry at the same time, so we had a couple of hours with both of us busy. When that was all done I tackled taking down the Christmas decorations. It's a lot easier taking them down than putting them up. We'll put everything in one big tub and store them in the basement until next year. That's another task for Jim when it warms up, reorganize the basement storage compartments. It's time to get rid of anything we haven't used or don't think we'll need.

The dreaded grocery shopping was next on the list. I keep my grocery list on my Droid, which is very handy.  The list was long, and the cupboards were getting bare, so off to Walmart.  We were hungry, so we stopped at Wendy's for lunch on the way so we wouldn't buy out the store.  It was really busy, but we found everything on the list.

We made plans to meet a lot of our RV friends at the Florida RV Super Show in Tampa on Thursday the 13th.  Today we got a call from Lazy Days and our RV parts are in, so we're going to take the RV up on the 13th, drop it off at Lazy Days, and enjoy the day at the RV show.  That afternoon when (hopefully) the repair work is done we'll go about four miles east and un-hitch at Tampa East RV Park for a three day visit.  We want to check out the Tampa area, visit MacDill AFB, and maybe visit some of Jim's ex-co-workers over in Clearwater. We were surprised there were sites available during the week of the RV show.

We also got a call from an old friend who lives at Marco Island, south of Naples.  We plan to visit her sometime in January.  We're moving right along; before we know it, we'll be on the road again.

It's going to be in the 20's tonight, with a "hard freeze" warning for our county.  So Jim disconnected the water hose and we're back on the water pump. But it won't last long. It will be back in the mid-70's by this weekend, in our spot in paradise.
