Scouting Out the Area

(Wauchula, FL) - Our first night was quiet and there’s no nearby streetlights, so no light coming in the bathroom skylight. It’s very dark during the night.

We both got on the computer this morning and got caught up on the little stuff.  Jim found a local dentist and made an appointment for a cleaning. I took care of mine a few months ago.

After lunch we went scouting around, and of course get a few groceries.  I’m determined to cut back on food.  Either we eat out or get groceries, but not both.  We have a Winn-Dixie and Walmart 1.2 miles up the road.  In the same area is a strip mall with a Radio shack and the usual pizza, chinese, and mexican eating places.  There’s also a Wendy’s and a Pizza Hut nearby. We’re going to do just fine.  We’ll go into town another day.  There’s a huge orange grove, and the Little Charlie Creek that this place is named after, behind the park.   We checked out the recreation hall and bathhouse, which are both very nice.  We also have a well-equipped laundry room.
It rained this afternoon, which our neighbor says is the first rain around here since September.

Even with the rain it’s still in the mid 70’s.  We’re loving it.
