(Garner, NC) - My car has almost 100,000 miles on it, and since we use it for our primary "getting around" vehicle while we're parked we decided to take it for servicing to the mechanic that I've been going to for several years. He's very trustworthy and won't gyp me with added costs. We took it to the garage around 10:00 and I'll have it back sometime tomorrow afternoon.
I sat with mom and showed her the pictures of all the places we've been. The main one was her home in Indiana. I tried to take pictures that she could relate to the most. It took a couple hours to go through them. We then picked up mom and went for lunch and on to check out Crosswinds Campground at nearby Jordon Lake,
Jordan lake is huge, but we found the turnoff to Crosswinds Campground. It's a large park - part of the NC State Park system - and open year round. The gate is open from 8am to 8pm, so you can't get in or out after that time. The park has narrow roads and lots of trees. Satellite reception would be a real challenge. We did find two sites that might work, but overall we probably won't choose to stay there unless we have no other option in this area. We're just not real crazy about "woodsy" campgrounds. If there's trees, there's usually critters. :)
We took mom back to her place, did a couple more stops and went home. I cleaned up the RV a bit and read a few blogs. I hate getting too far behind in all the blogs, I like to know where people are, where they're going and how they're doing. I did hear about tornadoes in Arizona and hope no one was in the way of them.
It's so fun this time of year with so many on the move. I did a walk around the area. It's huge! The temperature is perfect today at 70 degrees. The nights are a little cooler at mid 40's. It's supposed to be in the 80's next week, so that will be nice.

We have more friends to meet up with this week, and we got a call from another RV-Dreamer couple that is in the area. We're excited about meeting with them tomorrow. They're hoping to go full time this spring.

I think I prefer the woodsy places, but then there are campgrounds and sites for every preference and budget. But I don't like the critters either when they try to invade my property!
We live in North Raleigh (for the moment) and are also "in the process" of going full-time.
Raleigh is a very RV unfriendly area and recently we were searching for anyplace we might be able to live in our RV while in the area to visit with our kids in the future.
Not a set of happy choices. Of what we found, Hiway 70 RV/moblle home park (where you are) was the best of what we could find but being sandwiched between the highway and the main railroad tracks behind it just really puts us off.
Having said that, we did find a few options down US 1 around Moncure. Again, not anything great but a few, like Dickens RV park, looked tolerably open but rather stark.
Depending on length of stay and where in the area you need to visit, where you are is about the best that the area has to offer.

We are going to Wilmington this weekend for some overdue R/R but perhaps after we get back we can meet you guys. We are long time "Dreamers", too.
