(Charleroi, PA) – Today is my hubby and sister’s birthday. They’re two years apart, but it sure makes it easier to remember the date. Happy Birthday to you both, hope you have many more years.
It was a great morning, no rain and low humidity. It was a fast hookup and we pulled out at 9:40. It was a straight shot on I-70 across Ohio, a small portion of W. Virginia, then 35 miles into Pennsylvania. We went through Columbus, OH with very little traffic. This picture isn’t perfect, but it’s hard getting pictures when you’re driving in traffic and watching signs. I love pictures of big cities, so I take a lot to get at least one or two good ones.
The landscape is really neat East of Columbus. It’s rolling hills and very pretty. The trees are just starting to turn colors. When we leave the area it should be really pretty on the way to NC.
We did stop along the way for lunch at a rest stop. Jim is enjoying a sandwich sitting on the steps.
We arrived at the Pine Cove and Beach Club RV park and the owner was outside. It was if he was waiting for us. I had to park my car in a parking area and Jim went on into our site.
The park is clean, not very big so we’re glad we made reservations. It has gravel roads and sites. Full hookups with 50amp service.
There’s a pond behind us
We were here only an hour when a storm came through. This is my favorite position watching storms from the back window.
We have good satellite and the Verizon Mifi is working great. We’ll relax tomorrow and move on Friday to York, PA. Folks have told us about all the factory tours in York. We're going to spend 6 or 7 days there so we hope to go on some factory tours, but one we definitely will do is the Harley Davidson factory. There’s a lot around there so we’ll stay busy and see some new things.
The life of freedom and a home on wheels, it just can’t get any better!

Happy birthday, Jim!
The factory tour at Harley Davidson sounds like fun. Our Sunday paper had an article about how they aren't selling as many of them - the older folks are mainly the ones who ride them and the younger ones coming along don't. There's nothing like the sound of a Harley.
I recognize that Columbus skyline! Glad you're situated again and have good internet access.
Happy Birthday Jim! We hope you have a great celebration.
Happy Birthday!!! Looks like Life is Good.
Happy Birthday, Jim. I know I'm prejudice being from Wisconsin, but if you want the real Harley experience, come to Milwaukee, Wisconsin and tour the Harley Museum. Several years ago they had the 100th Harley anniversary. I've never seen so many bikes! Enjoy your tours.
Well, now Evelyn.... we have a Harley plant in Kansas City too, and we don't think its any less REAL just because its not in Wisconsin...
Actually I quite like taking folks out to the Harley Plant. It is clean and new and all the employees park their bikes on the front steps around the plant.
And yes, the younger set seems to like a Japanese ride, but then they will get older someday too..
