I lived in an apartment with two other ladies right out of high school, then in a studio apartment behind someones house while in Florida and dating Jim. We both moved into an apartment when we first married, after that it was military living in base housing. We did move into an apartment in Raleigh when Jim retired from the military, but it was so high priced, it was cheaper to buy a condo. Now we're going backwards to an apartment again. This one is awesome so far. The door coming in was sticky and they fixed it, then an electric outlet didn't work and it was fixed, and last night our sink is stopped up in the kitchen and the garbage disposal doesn't work. The guy that came to fix it said it leaked and some of the stuff under the sink should be moved. When I got home I moved things from underneath and they're getting a garbage disposal by the time I got back from the laundry it was fixed. Talk about fast!
Besides getting use to the size of the apartment it was fun making a full meal last night for the first time since we moved in. I can get to the stove and back to the sink by just doing a 180 turn. I have things in place to get it quick and so far have only lost the fish batter. We need to use up food products to make room but I really like it here. The only other thing is getting use to one bathroom. The last time we had a one bathroom place was when we first married. There's something to having a small place, we can hear each other no matter where we are. Nice not to yell, or say "wait a minute, can't hear you."
I got a card in the mail today from the Vietnam Vets of America saying they're picking up in our area on October 5th, I'm going to get some more stuff ready to go for them.
I did the laundry this afternoon. It was so different. You buy a card ahead of time and then use it for what you need. We had so much and the learning curve and waiting was 2 hrs today. I'm glad I went when I did. Nobody around, but what's really nice the gym is in the same location so I was on the bike for half hour. It's all I could handle today. Jim has done the laundry since we married, but may switch roles till we get on the road, or go back and forth. He likes reading, I don't so hopefully he'll do it once we're on the road. I'll do it now so I can work out and get ready for hiking.
This will change shortly
Time left to get on the Road 20 weeks 2 days
(Just a reminder, this date is so we can get to Rockport, TX to meet up with RV-Dreams gathering by March 1)

I know I've been behind everybody wishing you congrats but I've been thinking about you. CONGRATS!!! I know we'll meet up someday...
Oh, Good! Now the fat lady can sing....you have the check in hand.
You would have to get used to one bathroom anyway, might as well start practicing!

Ohh it's like your apartment is practice for when you start living in closer quarters in the fiver! LOL
Good step in between your big condo and the small space of the rv.
