CLOSED ON CONDO - RV NEXT

The morning didn't go as planned and I got really nervous. We received an email from the Realtor last night saying the closing was going to be delayed till later this morning. There was a clerical error on the buyers side so the papers had to be redrafted. She called at 9:15 this morning saying the new closing hour was 11:00 est. I paced the floor for a bit, but found Sandra on Yahoo messenger to chat with which helped the nerves a bit. Thanks Sandra for being there.

I headed to the lawyers and arrived the same time as Jim and the Realtor. The buyers also arrived so we were all on time. It didn't take very long to to sign the papers, but there was a clitch in something missing from another persons signature, so we won't get our check till later tomorrow afternoon. I didn't realize we'd get it right away. I was figuring next week so that's good news. We were short just a few dollars on what we planned on getting after all the fees, but we're still very happy with the outcome.

We are now on our way Saturday to order our 5th wheel. It will be the Carriage Cameo 36FWS. Jim sent the dealer our price we'd pay and they didn't come back with a counter offer so we got the price we were hoping to get. We need to pick colors, and a few little things so we're going to the dealer to do it in person.

If all goes well and we get a few things in order, we'll be fulltime in December and may cancel our apartment. Right now we have the apartment till February. There's several things needing attention but we have time to figure it out. Jim will quit work when everything is in place, like the disc brakes, tire-pro system etc. I also still need a driver for mom, but we're on the right track for that to happen. It's not easy finding the right person.

I went to the bank and took in 35 pounds of coins. I don't mind having that many coins with us, but the weight is a factor. I came back to the apartment and out of 71 t-shirts I threw out enough to make it 32. I'm doing good, I still have a couple months to bring it down to 20. I wear t-shirts to everything except work so it's not like I'm keeping them just to have around. I still have boxes everywhere, so little by little I'll just dump stuff so we can make a smooth move into the RV.

I have bad knees and back when bending and I tried all week to figure out something about the plastic (leftover) dishes we use nightly. They didn't fit at all in the top cupboards so today I played with an idea that will work for the lighter stuff (not cans). Put the lid of the plastic box right side up and put the box on top of it. It slides out real easy to get what you need and keeps it all in place instead of all over the cupboard. I think I'll do that with the spices and the boxes of mixes. When we're on the road just put the lids on them. I like it. I'll take any ideas what to do with the cans. The cupboards are very narrow and very deep.

It's happening! We are free right now of debt and free to move or do whatever we want. The condo brought us 12 years of a great life. We really loved it and hate to see it go, but it's time to move into another life, the one that will take us to many place and meeting many people. I want to thank everyone that has given us support in the sale of the condo. I wish all those that are selling their homes a lot of luck and hope to see you on the road soon.

Stay tuned on the next phase, arrival of the 5th wheel and how we'll get into it. We're hoping to stay close to the dealer a few days before bringing it home. We're about 2 1/2 hours away.

Time left to get on the Road 20 weeks 3 days
(Just a reminder, this date is so we can get to Rockport, TX to meet up with RV-Dreams gathering by March 1)

Congratulations Dee amd Jim!!! For every deal there is always somebody. Perhaps you can relax now somewhat, as being on the road is now a certainty.

It's so exciting to finally be getting there and about three years earlier than you had planned originally.

Good luck with your downsizing. Once the RV is here you'll just start pitching stuff! I did!
