We got up about 8:00 to a sunny, cold, windy day. It was excellent to fly out of Vegas. We met Linda and George for breakfast and left for the car rental place at 10:30. We didn't want to be late and figured in traffic and getting lost. We turned wrong off the highway and the closer the mountains got to us, we knew we had something wrong. We called George for directions, and he told us we made the wrong turn off the highway. We saw more of Las Vegas and was very glad we started out early. We turned in the rental with no problems, than got the shuttle to the airport. We only had two hours to wait and that went really fast. There's slots all over the airport, and to answer your question, no I didn't put any money in them. I'm sorry to all the chatters, I didn't get your money back that you left here when you came.
Some of the changes we've noticed:
1. Grass is fake around the whole area. In front of buildings or around the fancy casinos.
2. There's very few people if any at the $1 slots. They are at the one cent and five cents and those machines are hard to find without a lot of searching.
3. The news from Vegas today was how many people are not paying up their bills, not thousands but millions. They're shutting down a lot of overdue accounts and not allowing the big gamblers go past a certain amount on credit, like they use to do.
4. The machines aren't dinging like they use to either, not as many payouts and not as big when they do payout.
We had a great flight back and all flights to Vegas and back were early. I love flying but not the hassle to get on the planes. Luckily we didn't get pulled aside this time. We didn't have the long lines because it was in the middle of the week. One problem we did have, weight on our luggage. In Raleigh we were fine, in Vegas we had four pounds over. We didn't have anything new and even took out a couple items. The lady said dirty laundry can make a difference, does that mean we had four pounds of dirt? It cost $39 for four pounds. We took out just enough to be at 50lbs (which is the limit without paying) and put it in my backpack. This may be our last time flying for quite some time. In May for our sons wedding we'll be driving. I hope to have the fiver the next time we go out west.
Here's a few pictures from the flight home. I'll get pictures loaded into photobucket tomorrow so you can see them all. What fun we had, we arrived home at midnight, I'm posting and going to bed even though our "Out West" time is only 9:30 we need to get back to Eastern time so we can work on Thursday.
Leaving Las Vegas the strip and down town
Grand Canyon and the last one is the sun shining on the storm clouds
I want to thank George and Linda for such a great time and we can't wait till we meet up again. Thank you both for joining us in Las Vegas.
A new date will be our countdown. We're sure of the wedding in May, so
