Going Down the Rabbit Hole - Auroras - Veterans Day

Shalimar, FL         (Hi 77  Lo 58)

If I get a few minutes of downtime I've learned to go to TikTok and look up animals (cats mostly) and the porch pirates.  I thought I was spending just a few minutes before getting up a couple mornings this week and was online for an hour or more. The laughs just continue when I think of them during the day. Try it, if you're feeling down. It can be hilarious.

Monday started very interesting. I was going to bowling but one of our players was needing some help so we didn't bowl and stayed with her for most of the day. I know by working with her, that we're all in good hands if something comes up that we need hospital  care. If you have no family you need a lot of help with dealing with health care. Take heed, it's not like it used to be.

Tuesday was the normal beat the clock. I started really early at 9am for the Veterans celebration. It was about a half hour and was very good.

At 10:00 I went to diamond art. At 1:00 it was meditation then right into working with another guy to help residents with phones, Ipads and computers. I love doing that. I learn so much working with all kinds of electronics. All went well and with the two of us the residents went home happy and learned more about their phones etc.  Tuesday night was special. The aurora borealis showed all the way to panhandle and mid Florida.  The first photo was out my backdoor. There's a big street light that was in the way, but we're pretty well lit up and I didn't want to take the car out not knowing where to go. (Click on the photo to enlarge).

Here's a few more from around the USA.

This is Aurora outside Chicago, at son's place.
The reds were so bright.

Wednesday night was supposed to be more vibrant, but it didn't happen. The atmosphere was totally different and quiet.

I crocheted almost the entire day on Wednesday. I also had my massage and chiropractor appointment. I feel so much better when I go once a month.

Thursday I went to newcomers meeting. There were several new people that came to learn about our village. They do the meetings every quarter if there's enough people that's moved in. I'm on the council so I go as support for our village.

I went to crochet in another village for the afternoon. I got a couple things done while crocheting two days in a row.  Minnesota Vikings football gnome. And an order for a birthday present, EEYORE from Winnie the Pooh.
Friday was a fun morning. Coffee talk topic was being grateful and thankful. What the difference is and what were something things in our lives that pertained to each. We had a great group and very interesting with all the different countries represented.  Next was happy hour in the commons. There weren't very many people but sure was nice to be there with pizza for snack.  Our group that didn't play Monday for Wii bowling played at 4:00 so that was made up for scores for the week. I ended up the evening with two zooms, the NC and the regular chatters.

Saturday morning at 9:30 was craft. I barely made it. That's quite early for me but worth it. We did a nice dish of candles and different little things to decorate. This is Marie, our teacher with two of the trays.
and mine.
That's the end of the week.

There's a couple more pictures I want to add. Frank, our son went to the cemetery today because he has to work on the day that  the wreaths  will be put out. I love when he goes. Jim is buried at Jefferson Barracks in Missouri and Frank is very close.  Thank you for going.
I took a picture of the resident squirrel (one of them) eating a nut. I like the way the sun was shining through his tail.
See you next week.
