2025-April 4 to 6 - Cruise Nassau- Amber Cove - Grand Turk

 Day one, two, and three

I left  Friday  April 4 at 7am and got to Cape Coral 7pm. I got to Roberta's just before dark. The traffic wasn't bad on I 10, but when I hit I 75 it was a total parking lot almost all the way down. There was several accidents with stoppage of 25 minutes at a time. I stopped around Brooksville to see RV'ers from long time ago when we first went on the road in an RV. I only stayed with them a few minutes.

April 5, Saturday, we headed to Miami. We stayed in a motel to be sure we were close to the ship for Sunday's departure. It's three hours to Miami from Cape Coral. Traffic was bad for that area but nothing stopping.

We got settled in and found a Mexican restaurant with great food across the street.
Our motel had a canal out back and it was a pretty area. (Click on the photos to enlarge)

April 6, Sunday, we headed to the Cruise Port in Miami by mid day. We left the car in the motel parking lot. We got a driver from the motel to take us to the port. Our boarding time was 1:30 and it was about 12 when we arrived. A lot of people were coming off the ship and waiting for drivers to the airports etc. We decided to go inside and see if we could get on board to eat, mainly. We walked right in and had lunch and waited for our room which was a 1:30 opening. This ship holds 6500 passengers and over 1000 crew. This one had LOTS of little kids, spring break for the northern states were on board. The layout is totally different from anything I've been on before. We tried to find things of interest for the rest of the week. The views of Miami from our room 12487, That's deck 12.

                                                            Our room and balcony, Roberta

The Royal Caribbean Symphony of the Seas was next to us, which brought some tears, that's the last ship Jim and I did together. We did a lot of walking and kept coming to dead ends on the decks and had to walk back. We got in our room, had dinner later.  We didn't do the formal dining room all week just the buffet. That was different, but it's the same foods, just no entertainment with it.
Our luggage got to the room by 5:00. After dinner we went to the deck to watch the sunset.

I took several pictures while it went down the horizon. We found a bar that we stayed with all week and the bartenders got to know what we liked and didn't like. It was fun trying out all new drinks thru the week.
