Back to a Busy Week - Getting Land Legs Back - Fisher House

Shalimar, Fl    (Hi  72  Lo 55)

It took a few days to get rested up from the cruise and also find the land legs. All of us were experiencing a weaving feeling like we were still on the ship, especially in the shower.  We had to rebalance as if we were still moving, crazy feeling. I'm so glad we're home. Belize is getting the tropical storm Sara today and it's just hanging out.

The week was basically normal. Hand, knee and foot on Sunday. Then card game called 31 every night. Monday was Wii bowling with not too bad high score 193 and while on bowling high on Wednesday was 194. Wednesday afternoon for meditation we had a party to celebrate three years together. I'm on the second year. What a great group. Left to right, Priscilla, Lois, Cathy (our leader), Rita, Judy, Rosetta, and Virginia.

I went to a class for making a reed star. It's not easy and the gal had two days of teaching it. I love the outcome though and it will go on my door for Christmas. (Click on the photos to enlarge). I don't know all these gals, so not to leave anyone out I won't put in the names.

Friday morning I went with the neighbor to the Fisher House on base. I've heard a lot about it and this is an amazing place. They have built a house across the street from the hospital and active duty's family can stay in it till the soldier has healed enough to go home. They take donations for supplies and the costs to run the place. It's well worth it. They have several around the world, but we're lucky to have on here.                                             The Kitchen
Rows of refrigerators and freezers. Each room has food in bins for them to use.
The sitting room

A place to sit outside and there's several games around the outside, along with bbq grills.

Hallway to the rooms.
The rooms have WIFI
The dining area
The couple that started the Fisher House concept
The entry

Information for donations. I don't normally post something like this, but it's to a very good cause. I'll support the military any way I can.
In the afternoon I had sip and paint. This one is so neat. No one did the same thing and they were all very good.

Mine close up
To finish out this week the last full moon of this year.
