Basketball - Car Hatch - Hospice Interview - Crochet

Shiloh, IL (Hi  40  Lo 30)

I like basketball but don't watch a lot, but the big game of UNC and Duke was on Saturday night. I didn't do anything else but watch the game.  I was glad for the outcome.

My hatch on the RAV4 quit working little by little. It started acting up last year but I didn't need it very much except for groceries. The more I used it for Jim's wheelchair the worse it got and it became a real problem not opening or going half way and I had to force it down or up. When I tried to open it last month it wouldn't come open at all or when it did come up it wouldn't latch when going down. I ordered struts a few months ago which the mechanic said I would need. I got them and had the mechanic put them on but they didn't fit, it was third party. It took a bit to get them sent back and get a refund but in a couple months I got all that done. When I decided I might be traveling and will need the hatch, I went to Toyota and had them fix the whole thing. It was pricey, but well worth it and it's guaranteed for a year. Now I'm set

Wednesday I went to hospice for an interview. I volunteered for two years in Florida hospice. In Florida I went into patients rooms when needed but there's no patients here, only office and home care. It took two and half hours to go thru paperwork on procedures. I then had a good talk with the volunteer supervisor. She's taught school on bereavement.  She told me I took really good care of Jim and not to feel bad if I felt like I didn't.  She said I kept him dry and comfortable. I seldom left his side and they knew that. It was good hearing that.  I'm waiting on the background check and then will get my days and hours of working in the office.

I spent the rest of the week working with the same puzzle I started months ago and did a sleigh with mice for the craft fair. I'll post when I get something done. This set is really small and cute. It would go anywhere in the Christmas decorations.

I took care of son's dog, Banjo, while they went to see a volleyball game in Kentucky. The dog likes paper and he put this torn up paper in the slippers. I thought that was funny.
This is Banjo. He's a solid dog and will knock you down if you're not steady on your feet. He's a really good dog (most of the time).
I get groceries about once a month and it's usually from the base. Last month it took me 5 trips to bring in the bags, so I bought a grocery cart this week. That should help a lot to bring in groceries from the parking lot.
It's still cold this week but when it warms up I'll start filling the days with cool things to do. This next week there's a couple things going on so please follow along. Thank you to all the readers.

Whew. I can see your blog from my phone but not my computer. Don't ask me why.

That was a good idea to get the cart. And you will do a bang up job at the Hospice center. They will be lucky to have you.

Shalimar, FL  (Hi 64  Lo 40)   This week went so slow. When you're retired the days get all mixed up and some go so slow you skip a day...
