Shiloh, IL (Hi 63 Lo 52)
We had 83 on Tuesday then it was 38 on Thursday and back to 60's and 70's this weekend and this next week will be low 29 with possible snow. That's quite a spread in temperatures. The 83 for that one day was a record high. I always knew it was changeable around here but that's a lot.
Since the temperature was so high, I got out and walked almost a mile on our path. It was so nice and my legs felt it the next day. I didn't realize there was so much going on behind the apartment buildings. They've started building the +55 housing. It's going to be huge. The starting rent is way out of my range, but sure is going to be nice. One car garage and the inside will be all handicapped accessible. My apartment is too, but guess they'll be doing even more advanced. They're all ranch style which is really neat. Here's a few pictures. (Click on photo to enlarge).
In that regard I had a chance to rent a place in the same community in Florida where I lived before coming to Illinois. I've been going back and forth with a couple people in getting a house to rent. Things kept leaning on not moving. I'm getting to old to do that actually so finally got hold of the apartment office to see what my rent will be increasing to next year and got my answer and decided to stay here. Next step is now get state license. I dread testing, getting too old for that too.
I've been just passing time this week with puzzle, guitar (which is still getting figures to cooperate) and crocheting. I've also been playing a lot of computer games to pass time.
I took a picture of the plant that I received from the funeral. It's sure growing and I'm so proud not to have killed it yet.
It even has white buds on it.

Yeah, moving isn't for sissies! We have a peace lily as well from when my Mom passed 2 years ago. Water it once a week, it's thriving!
It'll be a month on Monday since I lost Jim. I'm staying put here in AZ for the foreseeable future. I may regret that decision come July and August but this is home. This adjusting to being alone is a process and I appreciate your blog sharing your progress.
