Auburndale, FL (Hi 77 Lo 63) Please read Part one
Wednesday: We started out about 9am from Cocoa Beach hotel and started out north to Micanopy. I found the little town on Only in Florida emails I get daily of different sights to see or things to do in Florida. Click here to read about the town. It was interesting in just getting there and three hours from Cocoa Beach, It's motorcycle week in Daytona and and there were a ton of cycles on the road. We had one gal ahead of us that was unsteady and kept slowing down and speeding up on a two lane road. If we knew all that ahead of time we would have waited to see the town. It was quite interesting, but some of the stores were closed due to Covid. (Click on photos to enlarge).
Just one of the stores with thousands of items. There's several rooms piled high. If you're looking for something different this is the place to go.
There was a neat little group that played neat music with a flute two guitars and a string instrument.
We stayed about an hour, had a great lunch in the cafe and took off for home later in the afternoon. We took all back roads home and got there about 5:00. Jim was coming in from Tampa from getting his second Covid shot. It was great getting back about the same time.
Lots of gorgeous homes.
The first of the canals we went thru to go to the next lake.
Big gorgeous homes all around the lakes.
Rollin University is a big portion of one of the lakes. Jim graduated from there, from taking classes off campus. This was the first time he's seen it.
It was fun going thru tunnels and low over hangs.
Cute figures along the way in someone's back yard.
Lonely Cypress tree with Osprey nest on top. She was sitting on the nest so we didn't get real close. If you click on the picture you can see the top of her head.
Back on shore we walked the street and saw these trees. We ate at one of the restaurants. There were lots of shops and the streets were cobblestone.
One of my orders is a Schnauzer dog. I did complete it during the week.
We got a text on Saturday night that our grandson is now engaged. Here's Kyle and Holly. Congrats guys!
