Fondue Party - Movie - Visiting with Friends and RV'ers - Special Basketball Game

Auburndale, FL (Hi 81  Lo  60)                        CHATROOM 9:00pm EASTERN TIME

We started out Saturday with a fondue that was in the community. I hadn't met some of the residents and thought that would be a good way to do it.  (Click on photos to enlarge).
We each brought an item to share. There were lots of good dipping food in the cheese and the chocolate. (Forgot to get a picture of the chocolate).

A few of the people attending.

Sheila was the hostess.

Thank you Sheila and Tom for a great evening.

Sunday was the super bowl and Jim wanted to skip the game go out and eat and see a movie. Outback was busy but we got a seat right away. We love their meals and this one was perfect.
Jim's steak and potato and my seafood.

The movie A Dog's Way Home was great. Bring a tissue, it's heart warming and sad in places.

There were six total in the theatre.  Good time to go.

Tuesday we had Jim's cousin Adele and hubby Dick here from Georgia. We grilled chicken sandwiches and visited with them most of the day. The temperature was perfect so we sat out in the Florida room enjoying the lake and birds.
Dick and Adele

Wednesday we met up with RV'ing friends. Two of them have 40' motor homes and the other has a motor home in the shop so we all met to Strawberry Hut in Plant City, which is an excellent Cuban sandwich place.

Lexi was begging for a piece of our sandwich

After we ate the sandwiches we went to Parksdale for strawberry shortcake.
Ed, Lessie, Patricia, Harold, Lorne, Susan, Dee and Jim
We were connecting to each other to setup Google locations.

My second shortcake of the year.

Thursday I had a massage and chiropractor appointment. All afternoon I worked on the lighthouses. I finally finished them.

Friday I was going to play shuffleboard, but the smoke from burning the diseased orange trees was overwhelming and effected my breathing so I stayed inside.

Friday Jim went to Tampa for the Florida Audio Expo.

It was held in a large hotel, where they set up fancy stereo rigs in the rooms. Lots of very expensive equipment. Jim loves music and he always dreams of having a big fancy stereo.

Some of the equipment was just weird looking.

He got home in time for us to go to the Lakeland Magic basketball game. We got there early for a special meeting to listen to Pat Williams the Senior VP of the Orlando Magic NBA team. Here's a bio on Pat's life which is quite fascinating. It was a great time listening to Pat, he's funny and very informative.

Group shot at the "talk".

Mary Lyons is our season ticket gal we go to for special requests.

We asked for floor tickets and meal that's available at every game. We had our dinner then went to the baseline seat under the basket. We met another couple and had a great time talking to them.  We moved to the side line for second half of the game. It was quite different being on the floor with the guys right in front of you. They are TALL. The game is really fast when you see it from this angle.

It was fun watching the refs right in front of us too. They run fast the whole game.
The mascot of the Orlando Magic was there last night goofing off with the guy next to us.

It was a fun night and different from our other games.
