Okeechobee - The Price is Right Live - Windows

Auburndale, FL (Hi  71 Lo 49)     CHATROOM  from 8:30 to 11:30 EDT

This week was a busy one but things are winding down fast. On Saturday, we went to Okeechobee to see my sister Doris and hubby Herm.  We had a fish fry with potato salad, hush puppies, cod, flounder, and bacon-wrapped shrimp. Great meal!  Thanks sis. We visited for a few hours and went back home. Jim's baseball games have started and the basketball games were ending, so there's lot of sports going on. (Click on the pictures to enlarge).

One big Flounder.

Table all set.

Bacon wrapped shrimp from the grill.

Tuesday we went to Clearwater, Ruth Eckerd Hall for the Price is Right Live event. It's the Price is Right that's on TV but smaller version. There were approximately 3,000 people there and they drew 60 names. Instead of calling one name when one game was done they'd call four names. They would play for the chance to get on stage. When three of them lost the bid, they'd go back to their seats. The games were just like on TV. It was so well done. They spinned the wheel, played plinko and Cliffhanger, guessed grocery items and a few other games. The prizes were nice too, Two names were called for the big showcase prize at the end and the closer you got to the price the more you received. A car was the last prize. One couple behind us were just engaged and won a washer and dryer.  No photography was allowed so I couldn't get any photos during the show.

Ruth Eckerd Hall.  The seats are in a semi circle with no break between them. It's a long way from end to end.

The final game. We sneaked it the photo.

We registered and got officiall name tags. We weren't chosen. I think we were one of the oldest couples there.

Wednesday, we got six new windows installed, the ones that look out to the lake. It was windy but no rain. They look great. We're going to paint the shutters so I'll take pictures when it's all done.

I played shuffleboard on Tuesday and crafts on Thursday. I'm back to playing, with less people around. We took the truck in for detailing and it's ready for the "for sale" sign. We're moving right along getting things done before the heat begins.

More next week.
