Orlando Magic - Sister Visit

(Auburndale, FL) Hi 77  Lo 66 -- Basketball season is close to starting and we went to Amway Center in Orlando to see an open practice by the Orlando Magic NBA team. It was a good opportunity to check out the arena and parking before going to real games when the season starts. There wasn't a lot of people and we had a great time watching the team scrimmage.  (Click on the pictures to enlarge.)

View from our assigned seats right behind one of the baskets. We couldn't see the actual baskets so we moved over to another area where we had a better angle.

Ahh, this was much better.

This guy wore head gear with a basket. He threw balls in the audience and they threw them back he'd try to catch them in the basket. It was so fun to watch.

The Magic Dancers did their thing.

The view from higher up in the stands.

The traffic was bad going and coming back.

It's fun to see what people use to get around in Florida. These two vehicles are interesting. A combination of motorcycle and car.

It was a fun time and we're looking forward to going to a couple games this winter.

The full moon was closer to the earth then the rest of the year this week. This was our view.

We went to visit my sister Doris and her hubby Herm in Okeechobee on Friday. They're snowbirds and just arrived and will be here the rest of the winter.

Doris and Herm.

Herm's a painter and this summer sis and I put together a section of the room for him to paint. I couldn't post this photo earlier because she wanted to surprise him. He loves it!

Meet Carly, their new puppy. She's very energetic and was all over the place. She's part German Shepherd, and very cute.

Sis lives near Lake Okeechobee lake so we went up to the levee for a walk and to look at the lake,

An RV park on the other side or the levee.

Doris and Herm joined us for dinner at Cowboys  Restaurant before we left for home. This is the view from our outdoor table on  Taylor Creek.

We have a great travel program in our park, with trips that go all over the world. This group is cruising to South America for 10 days. We'll be going on some trips in the next few years. They have trips planned to Alaska, Scotland, Africa, and many others in the next couple years.

I'll leave you with this photo of a Blue Heron in our back yard. He stands on this small concrete platform a few times a day. He's just one of many that we see every day.

See you next week.
