Crochet Sales - Moved To Our Winter Site

(Avon Park, FL) Hi 82 Lo 73 -- Our stay at Mayport Naval Station came to an end, so it was time to make our final move of the summer to our winter site at Adelaide Shores RV Resort in Avon Park. I took a few final photos before we left yesterday (Monday) morning. (Click on the photos to enlarge them.)

A small sailboat leaving for a day on the high seas.

A final view of our site.

Our favorite bench, where we sat for many hours.

It's a rare experience to see a submarine come in or out of Mayport, but on our final morning we were lucky to see one leaving...

... And a while later another one coming in. So awesome!

I took some of my crocheted critters over to the craft show at the clubhouse on Saturday morning. There was one other lady there selling jewelry. It was a slow day, but I made a few sales.

Saturday and Sunday the Blue Angels performed at an air show on Jacksonville Beach. We've seen lots of air shows during our military years so we didn't care to go to the show site and suffer through the crowds and parking. But we love sitting on the beach, so we did go down to the beach here on base to watch Saturday's show. They were too far away to get any good photos, but it was fun watching them zoom around the skies through our binoculars. We got a closer look at them when they were making their wide turns to return to the show area, and also when they came back to the base to land.

On Sunday two of our North Carolina friends, Hank and Selene, came to town to visit their daughter who lives in this area. They stayed at Hanna State Park just outside the base. We brought them on base to show them around, then went out to dinner at a Chinese buffet. It was a great visit, and we hope to see them again sometime this winter.

We had a smooth travel day to Avon Park. It will take us a few days to get completely set up for the winter. Not many snowbirds are here yet, but starting next week they'll start arriving.

Our new pad.

No one around, yet.

We'll be posting less often while we're here, so if you want to be alerted when we post just put your email address in the "Follow by Email" space at the right of this page.

See you in a few days.

That view looks pretty familiar! We are looking forward to our stay there again this year. :) Have fun getting settled in.

We love Mayport, too and would love to stay there all winter. But then if that was allowed, nobody would be able to get in, all the sites would be taken by the early birds. ;c)

Newcomers Meeting - Zoom - Emerald Coast Band

Shalimar, FL  (Hi 64  Lo 40)   This week went so slow. When you're retired the days get all mixed up and some go so slow you skip a day...
