Last Day in Indiana and On to Kentucky

(Shepherdsville, KY)   Hi 80 Lo 61 -- On Saturday I went to see Shelly's daughter Anita in Martinsville, about a half hour from the RV park. Shelly was our babysitter and I was at her daughter Anita's birth, and now she's married and has a daughter of her own. She's a school teacher in Martinsville and I learned a lot about the kids and how politics and political correctness are affecting teachers. It was quite a learning experience. Thank you Anita for meeting with me.

Here at Lake Haven Retreat our site is very close to the RV next to us. But it's a very quiet park and we liked staying here. This area of Indy would be perfect to live if we wanted a summer home in the area. It's only 15 minutes from downtown Indianapolis and yet it feels like you're in rural country. It's not going to happen, just saying.  (Click the picture to enlarge.)

Sunday was a busy TV day for Jim. He tried to watch the Dolphins football game, the Cardinals baseball game, and the NASCAR race, which all overlapped each other. Thank goodness for the DVR.

Today (Monday) we had a nice leisurely start to our travel day. We rolled out of Indy about 11:00. That's late for us, but it was less than three hours to Grandma's RV Park in Shepherdsville, KY, about 20 miles south of Louisville. The traffic wasn't too bad but there was lots of construction, especially as we got closer to Louisville. It seems like the roads are getting worse every year. The potholes are so  much worse this time. I wasn't sure if all the stuff in the RV would stay put with all the bouncing and swaying, but everything was fine when we arrived around 2:00. We're here for a week. This is our third time at Grandma's. It's  very convenient to some good wineries and bourbon distilleries.

See you in a few days.
