Harry's Birthday - Quality Time With Friends - Rocket Launch

(Avon Park, FL) Hi 85 Lo 65 -- The weather has been perfect, and we’re taking advantage of it, spending more time outdoors.

My last visit to eye doctor was on Tuesday. Both eyes are healing well. I still get a scratchy feeling from the incisions, so the doctor told me to use the healing drops for another week. I ordered glasses to help with driving, and they'll be in sometime next week.

Our last pizza party at the clubhouse was Thursday. The numbers are dwindling as some of the snowbirds are starting to leave.

I’m still going to crafts. This week we worked with wine corks. People make all kinds of things with corks, including wearables. You can see many examples on Pinterest and facebook. People drink a lot of wine in this park. :)

Lessie and Ed came back for their second visit to the park on Friday. They'll be here through the weekend. Lessie played pool with me yesterday. We each won three games, then ran out of time. I’m hoping we get to break the tie before she leaves on Monday.

Harry and Jessica invited us to dinner with them to celebrate Harry's birthday. We went to Outback. Jim got a steak and Harry prime rib. I had a delicious baked tilapia with crab meat sauce, and Jessica had a chicken salad.

This is my tilapia dish.

We ordered two desserts to share, a warm apple skillet with ice cream, and a "Chocolate Thunder From Down Under." It's a warm brownie with ice cream, whipped cream, and chocolate sauce. Mmmm!

Harry wants them both!

Lessie, Vi and I sat under Lessie's awning and visited today.

It’s been a great week with friends. We have another couple coming in this Sunday.

I finished my last afghan of the season and turned it in to donate to the Project  Linus Organization.

Late last night we got to see another rocket launch from Cape Canaveral. It carried a satellite into space. It was bright and beautiful as it rose into the night sky! You'll have to take my word for it because we couldn't get any good pictures of it. :(

See you in a few days.

Can you tell me more about the Linus organization? I love doing crafts but don't have anyplace to keep anything in our travel trailer. Like the idea of giving things I make to good causes.

We find that many RVers do some type of craft. I am not into crafts but I can appreciate those who are. Just sitting around can get to me. And Leonard is never happier than when he is worked on something. You do nice work.

ELLEN, The Projectlinus.org only takes afghans and blankets. Crafts can be sold on etsy.com.
