(Avon Park, FL) Hi 84 Lo 60 -- Today we spent the day with Jessica and Harry. We drove about an hour and a half north to Plant City for some of the best strawberry shortcake in the world. The Florida Strawberry Festival is going on right now and, although we went through some of the traffic around the festival site, we bypassed it and went directly to Parksdale Farms. I love strawberries, so we try to make the trip each year. We stopped on the way for lunch at Zaxby's, but we made sure we left room for dessert. (Click on the pictures to enlarge them.)
Jessica and Harry.
We were surprised that there wasn't a very long line this time. Everyone must have been at the festival. Parksdale Farms runs a very efficient operation. The manage to serve everyone very quickly and the line moves fast. Here are some photos:
After we were served we went to the "Garden of Eatin" to enjoy our treats.
They really pile on the strawberries and toppings.
We were only a few miles from Lazy Days, the biggest RV dealer in the U.S. Harry and Jessica had never been there so we decided to go look at some RV's and walk off some of the calories we just ate.
There are over a hundred repair bays at the huge dealer.
I always like to look at class C's, just to see what's available in the smaller sizes. This is an unusual one that has a slide out in the rear. It makes for a roomy bedroom.
Harry "driving" his motorhome planter.
We walked at least a couple miles today. It was great exercise along with seeing some of the new RV's that are out there. We got home in time to play cards with the group, then home to relax.
See you in a few days.

We never made it to Plant City, always wanted to go there and try the strawberries :) You are having a great time with Harry & Jess!
We went once with the folks when they were shopping for a new one. It's fun to look, but when we are done and back into our old comfy rig, we realize we didn't see anything we liked better! LOL
