George took us on a beautiful drive around Lake Tahoe today. The highway goes completely around the lake and passes through many little towns and a few ski resorts. (Click on the pictures to enlarge them.)

The lake is so blue; it’s gorgeous!
Two inches snow fell in the mountains last night.
There’s a small castle in the middle of this island.
We had lunch at Harrah's Casino in South Lake Tahoe on the Nevada side of the border. We got back to Carson City and sat a while at George and Linda's place before coming back home.
It was a wonderful day of beautiful scenery with beautiful friends.

I've driven around most of the lake and it really is beautiful.
Used to ski in Tahoe when I lived in CA. Such a lovely place to be!

Tahoe is a beautiful lake. Rich's sister lived in Reno so we'd get to go once a year. I think it was Mt. Rose we'd go up. We'd also go to Pyramid Lake and Virginia City--some interesting history but very touristy. Glad you're having such a great time.
We want to do that drive someday.
