Phoenix Metro RV Park

(Phoenix, AZ) Hi 78 Lo 67 -- Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there.

We had a great trip from Tucson to Phoenix.

When we stopped at a rest stop this one was just a bit different then we’ve seen before. There was nothing but sand and dirt all around. Luckily it wasn’t windy. (Click on the pictures to enlarge them.)

The highways in Phoenix are like those we remember in Texas. Frontage roads along interstates are one way, so if you need to change direction you have to go all the way to a cross street, cross over the interstate, then go back the other way on the other side of the highway. It’s very inconvenient when you go pass your destination by mistake. I feel sorry for the emergency vehicles.

The park we’re in is very nice. It's a "55 plus" resort, made up of a mixture of park models and RV's, similar to our home park in Avon Park, FL. They also have a lot of the same activities we do in Avon park.

No view our our back window this time. Our neighbor's storage building is right behind us.

The snowbirds have left for the summer, so there are plenty of open sites.

There’s a concrete wall around the whole park, which keeps out the dirt devils like the one that hit us in Tucson, damaging our satellite dish. The sun goes down behind that hill for some nice sunsets.

You don't see this very often in an RV park. The boat is bigger then the RV.

There’s a very nice laundry room and bathhouse.

The office. The manager is great.

We stayed in today and watched TV and did computer games. I received calls from my boys, which made it the perfect Mother’s Day.

See you tomorrow.

I know what you mean about those frontage roads. We hate them.

The picture of the boat in the rv site is very common in the Keys.

Glad you had a nice Mothers Day.

We know that park very well, when we came out of Phoenix over 10 years ago we stayed there several times. A nicer park that we would recommend for a more spacious and much nicer views would be a few miles north of where you are located to the Pioneer RV Park off of Exit 225. Wildlife coming right into the park, coyote's, mountain lions, and Javelina's too!

Also, located just as you enter the park is the Pioneer Living Museum that is a great place to visit and watch some of the skits they do reenacting the cowboy days.

I guess there isn't a lot of grass cutting in the park! We are still looking for a park for next winter, so keep an eye out!

We stay in west Phoenix but that looks like a nice park.
