Going Down Memory Lane

(Moncure, NC) Hi 74 Lo 66 --  It rained off and on all night and all day.

It was my day today to get out and see some former co-workers I worked with when we lived in this area. I always see one gal every year we're in town. I normally pick her up at her work place, then drop her off after we have lunch together. Today was just a bit different. We went out to lunch but the boss was out of town so I went in to work with her. Several people are still working there from 1999 when I started. I left in 2003. It's a small underwriting firm for truckers insurance, and they still have files with my name on them. That gave me a funny feeling for sure. Everyone knew me and said I haven't changed except for my white hair. They know how to make a girl feel good. :) It was a great couple of hours.

I then made a visit to the place I worked at just before we went on the road. I worked there for four years. They're doing well and it was so good to see them. We're hoping to have lunch some time this week.

I started to go back home to the fairgrounds, then realized just before I got there that's not where I needed to be. I turned on the GPS to get back to the highway to get to the RV. I got back just in time for us to go out to dinner with Hank and Selene.

We went to nearby Pittsboro to a little restaurant downtown. The food was good, and the conversation was even better. We went back and sat with Selene and Hank in their RV for more talk, then walked next door to our home. It was a great day going down memory lane.
