Zooms - Scams - Fixing Computers and Phones - POWWOW

Shalimar, FL   (Hi 80  Lo 48)  This time of year it's up and down

I love the not knowing what I'll be doing next. I plan one thing and it turns out something better comes along and I'll do that instead.  It's great to have learned flexibility while traveling in the RV.  A long time ago I wouldn't even consider changing plans if something else came along.

I'm using Monday's as clean up days and laundry. I was super bored Monday. I got it all done really quickly. I did a lot of crocheting this week which helps stay on target for the craft fair on December 7. I'm looking forward to that, seeing what other people make in the village.

I fixed quite a few phones from one thing or another, keeps the mind active. One was a puzzle for me but with help from a friend on zoom. we got it figured out. A PC stopped working and wouldn't come back on when it said it was low on battery. She had hit the plug and it wasn't plugged in all the way. I put it in tight, but still wouldn't turn on. A suggestion was to change out the power cord so I got mine since it was the same brand and the plug looked the same with the requirements on the back of the charger.  Sure enough it worked. We're sharing power cords till hers gets here. I didn't know that would go out, so something else to know if it happens again.

I met up with quite a few people this week on zoom. I also learned about more scams that's going around in our area.  One is the 3 second pause when you get a call. That's popular now, you answer the phone, silence,  then you say hello again and you're plugged into a scam. Bad one, they use scare tactic for that one to give them money.

I've been reading a book that's for women that's really been great. I thought I'd share it for those that love to read.

Never Mistake Strength for Sovereignty.  It's telling women to go back to your power you had before people started telling you what you can or can't something. I don't read books that often, but this one struck me as very eye opening.

I had the little turtle come at my back door. He's been staying under the bush outside. Good to see he/she is still alive. They get into a lot fights around here.
Saturday was the highlight of the year, the Powwow in Niceville. There were four of us that went. We started out with all the crafts and stuff that's sold from most Indian powwows. I did get a gift for family member and finally got the famous Frybread. That was so good. A pasta patty fried and when it's crispy you put on honey and powdered sugar.

Now for the pictures.  I took a lot, but will only post a few. We stayed a couple hours did some more looking around then went home.  (Click on the photos to enlarge).

Tent where the dancers dressed and got ready

Back side feathers, like a belt
Lots of people

My favorite costume

Vette to the right in gray, went out to dance with them.

This dance is with "grass dancers".
This teen was very good.
Perfect weather great day with friends.
