Day of Errands - So Much Traffic!

(Moncure, NC) Hi 61 Lo 54 -- It was misty and cloudy all day, but it never did rain.

We had a lot to get done today. First was lunch with my former bosses, Gary and Chrissa. They own the small engineering company where I worked. They do city planning, mostly designing city water and sewer systems. They're very excited about getting some new contracts in other countries. I'm so glad they're doing well.

My new glasses aren't right, so that was the second place we headed. I did another exam and got another prescription. I can't clearly see road signs, and that's not good for as much as we travel. Hopefully they'll be in on Saturday before we leave on Sunday.

We did a lot of other errands and running around. The Raleigh area, and Cary in particular, has always had a lot of traffic no matter what time of day. It seemed to be worse today, but maybe it's just we're not used to traffic since we don't deal with it on a daily basis in our travels. Jim has less patience than me, but it was aggravating trying to get around today. At least we know the area well and don't have to find our way around.

We came back to the RV late afternoon and settled in for the rest of the evening. Jim's looking forward to watching his Cardinals beat the Pittsburgh Pirates tonight and move on to the next round of the playoffs. (At least that's what he's hoping.)

I had a lot of difficulty with my eyes on my recent trip. I will be seeing my eye surgeon on Nov 4, and if new glasses can't improve my eyesight I know I can't drive the kind of miles I recently did. Of course, right this minute, I don't want to even get into the car! Hope your new glasses are an improvement.
