Rainy Trip to Ft. Drum, NY

(Ft. Drum, NY) Hi 76 Lo 68 -- We had a sunny, hot humid morning to hitch up and pull out to head to northern New York. The views were beautiful, and some of the trees are starting to change colors.

It was a rainy trip and seemed longer than usual. We took interstate highways this time, which we’re glad we did or the trip would have been even longer. The scenery was beautiful, with farms along the way and mountains in the distance.

There’s always pretty churches to see when traveling in this area.

Along the Tomahawk river there are several locks and dams that can be seen from the road.

We finally got to Ft. Drum Army Post about 3:00. It wasn’t raining while we got set up at the famcamp, but not long after there was another hard shower. The temperatures are dropping fast, and it's forecast to be in the low 40's at night and low 60's during the day for the next week. It’s been a roller coast with the weather.

Here’s our site.

We stayed here two years ago so we're familiar with the park. It's very open, as you can see. We have full hookups with 50-amp service, but no wi-fi. Tomorrow we’re going to the commissary to do some shopping, and packing for a trip across the border to see our friends Sandra and Gordon.
