(Schenectady, NY) Hi 93 Lo 74 -- It was so cold a couple days ago, and today is miserably hot and humid. We have storms coming in, which means a cold front will cool it off again by the end of the week.
Tomorrow we're moving on, so today I'll recap the park we’re in. This is a huge park. The seasonals are mostly separated from the transients area. There are two lakes, one with a beach and one for fishing. There’s a pool and a pavilion area for big groups. The park is very pretty with all the well-kept green grass, but the utilities look like they could use some attention. The electric pedestals look very old, and ours has a very loose receptacle. Yesterday we tripped the 30-amp breaker when we turned our air conditioner on, and it's the first time that's ever happened to us. We've tripped breakers by turning on too many things at one time, but never for just the a/c. We switched our water heater and fridge to propane and we haven't had a problem since. (The a/c has been running all day today.) I think because the park is for sale the owners may not be putting as much into the upkeep as they normally would, and their priority seems to be the things you can see, like the grass.
The view in front of us is empty right now, but I bet it’s busy during the height of the summer season. (Click on the pictures to enlarge.)
Lots of room for ball games or family get togethers.
Lake area with a small beach.
Second office, laundry, bath house, and meeting room.
A few random views.
Play area for the youngsters.
Another view of our site.
We’re on the way to Ft. Drum, near Watertown, NY tomorrow morning for more adventures.
