(Maumee Bay State Park, Oregon, OH) Hi 84 Lo 67 -- We headed to Toledo this morning to an RV dealer to buy a new sewer hose. Ours has developed a couple of holes in it. It's lasted three and half years so we knew it was only a matter of time before it would finally wear out. We wanted the same brand of hose, a Rhino-Flex.
We like it because it extends up to 15, but squeezes down to less than 4 feet for storage. While we were there we picked up a couple other small items. We both love subs for lunch, so we tried a new place for us, Penn Station. Their "eastern style" subs are delicious! Then we stopped at Meijers (pronounced like "Myers"), a regional department/grocery store chain. It was our first time there. What a huge store with great prices! It's like a Walmart only better. I got a few grocery items an Jim got some new cargo shorts he’s been looking for. We got some good views of the Toledo skyline from the interstate.
The Maumee river runs through Toledo. The river feeds into Lake Erie.
Early this afternoon Kenny and Kathy arrived in their Itasca motor home and parked in the site next to us. They live in the area during the summer, and spend the winters at Adelaide Shores RV Resort in Florida, where we also spend our winters. It was great seeing them again. They hosted a cookout this evening, with some other Adelaide Shores friends coming over, David and Ruth Ann, and Bill and Georgia. Dick and Sandy were supposed to also come, but they had a minor emergency at home and couldn't make it. We may go visit them tomorrow.
Storms were threatening all afternoon, and as we were setting up for the cookout it started raining, at times pretty hard. Ken managed to keep the food dry on the grill, and when everything was cooked the guys ate outside under the awning while us women went inside the motor home.

It rained the entire time, but we didn't let it keep us from having a great time. We joked last winter about how all our friends at Adelaide Shores are from either Ohio or Pennsylvania. Since our travels are taking us through those two states, we're getting to see many of them, which is so wonderful!
Tomorrow morning we hope to explore some of the park with Kenny and Kathy. If it doesn't rain, that is.

My daughter lives in Bowling Green , Ohio, but teaches at a charter school in Toledo. They like that general area too.
We used to live near there and Maumee Bay State Park is definitely one of our favorites:)
