Fun Friday

(Avon Park, FL) Hi 73 Lo 39 -- It was cold enough to run our heat pump last night. The heat pump doesn't do a really good job of heating the rig. It puts out heat, but it comes from the ceiling registers, and we all know that heat rises. So you can feel heat above your head, but it never gets down low enough to heat the whole interior. But when the propane furnace kicks in, then it REALLY warms up!

I hit the ground running today. I love Fridays. There's a lot to do the whole day and it helps having neighbors that like to do things with you. The first was the Happy Hookers crocheting and knitting group. I promised pictures of the vest I'm working on. It's coming along great. I'm about five inches from starting the arm area. I should have it done before too much longer, unless I do something wrong near the top of it and have to rip some of it out.

I also learned how to make a pot holder today. I started mine in red but didn't get far enough to have a good picture of it. It's made like a folded over envelope and it's thicker than most pot holders. Here's a picture of a finished one that was done by another lady.

As soon as I left the Happy Hookers it was time for lunch, then Judy came over to get me for our walk. The temps had climbed a lot by then and it was great walking with a cool breeze. After our walk I had 20 minutes to rest, then it was time to go play a dominos game called Mexican Train. It was my first time for that game, and I met more wonderful people. I love the game and will be doing that now on Monday and Fridays. It's another chance to meet people and have some laughs. We played with number dominos instead of the normal ones with dots on them. What fun, I'll get pictures on Monday.

I had just enough time to get a drink of water when Judy and Jimmy came over to get both of us for shuffleboard. We played three close games and got back to the RV just before it started to rain. It was a quick shower, but it looks like more on the way.

We had a bite to eat then over to play cards. Another good time with a bunch of friends. It was great day here at the park with lots of activities. You just have to pick out what you want to do. We still haven't been to the pool, but that's coming up probably this week. It's supposed to be nice and warm. A great fun fun Friday.

Those thicker pot holders work so well to hold hot pots. Love them. My grandma made the ones I have in the rig. You are definitely staying busy, busy, busy which is so much fun.

You sure are keeping busy...never a dull moment.

I made & sold lots of those crocheted potholders during my craft sale days (14 yrs. worth). I still have a few that I use all the time.

You two are really busy folks. You do more in the first 2 hours of your day than we do all day!! We started playing Wheel of Fortune on the WII and what a great time we have doing that. Kris plays too and he is a kick to watch. He is real hyper and has trouble steadying his hand enough to click on the letter he wants. We have a lot of enjoyment just watching him.
