Havelock Chili Festival

(Beaufort, NC)  Hi 74 Lo 62 – Dee was feeling a little under the weather today, so she stayed home while sis Sharon and I went to pick up Mom, Aunt Roberta, and sis Robin to go to the Havelock Chili Festival. It was a beautiful day, and the festival was just big enough for a couple of hours of fun, and not too crowded.

There were around 20 small booths that sold chili, and for one dollar you got a small cup to sample.

It was interesting to try all the different varieties, some hot, some mild, and some that were a little non-traditional (chicken wing chili?).

Aunt Roberta and Mom enjoyed themselves.

And so did my beautiful sisters, Robin and Sharon.

There was a stage with a classic rock band cranking out some tunes.

And a preview of halloween. (Unless she was a REAL witch… hmmm.)

We all had a great time. It was great to spend time with my family. Our lifestyle has many wonderful benefits and having enough time to spend with family is one of them. We both treasure the relatively short time we spend with our family during our travels.

I got home in time to watch some of the NASCAR Nationwide race and order a pizza for dinner. A good day in the good life!

Sure hope Dee is feeling better. Those are the kinds of festivals I like - the smaller ones without so many people. Not sure I'd want to even try the chicken wing chili though.
