Visiting Friends in Wills Point, TX

(Mansfield, TX) Hi 99 lo 78 -- We left about 9:15 this morning for Wills Point, about an hour and 45 minutes away, to visit with our long time RV friends Sherri and Joe.

We met Sherri and Joe in 2008 at the RV Dreams rally in Branson, MO. They had been RV'ers for several years but not full time. Like us, they went to the rally to learn more. They have since sold their house and bought an RV, and we followed them along the way because their RV was made by Carriage like ours. They eventually traded their fifth wheel for a Tiffin Allegro motorhome, which they live in on land they own near Lake Tawakoni. Sherri decided to work a few more months, which has ended up four and half years and counting. She plans to finally retire in January (Joe is already retired). In the meantime they recently adopted their great grandson Chris, and will be home schooling him while on the road.

We all went out to lunch, then stopped by a grocery store to buy some Blue Bell ice cream and brought it back at the RV. It was out first taste of Blue Bell, and it sure was good! We talked well into the evening, then with hugs all around we headed back home. Thank you Sherri and Joe for a great day. We hope to see you soon along our travels.

We've been lucky to see a lot of different animals in our travels this summer. But we sure didn't expect to see camels grazing in a field in Texas! We passed this sight on the way to Sherri and Joe's this morning. I guess camels do well in the hot climate of Texas.

We got home just before dark. We have one more day in the Dallas/Fort Worth area before we leave on Monday.

My hat's off to Sherri and Joe for even thinking of adopting their Great Grandson. I'm sure that if they have been raising Chris since an early age that makes a big difference.

Be Safe and Enjoy!

It's about time.
