All the green crops made for beautiful scenery. We came through Iowa last summer so this part of our trip west wasn't anything new to us. I took a few pictures along the way, but as always they just don't show how pretty it really is.

This elevator and farm silos were in the a field with nothing else around for miles. I grew up in a little farming community in Indiana, and this reminded me of my childhood home.
We arrived at Amana Colonies RV Park. The park is right in the middle of the Amana Colonies. The pull thru sites are very long. Our site costs $15 per night at the Passport America rate, and it's water and 50-amp electric, but no sewer. But that's OK, we're only here for two nights. There's very few people here.
A few views of the park.
Our site. Look how much room there is behind us. The sites are made for two rigs back to back, but with so few customers, we had the long site to ourselves. The truck is in front of the RV.
We stayed in and had a nice home cooked meal. The weather is cooler than it's been in a while, and the breeze was great coming through our open windows. Tomorrow we're going to see what these Amana Colonies are all about.

Those are some really long pull thru sites. Always liked seeing those.
When we were there a couple years ago, we got lot of info on the things to see and do from the CG office.
Enjoy your stay. There's lots to see and do in the colonies.
I love those long pull thru sites especially when we're towing the boat. Looking forward to your posts on the Amana Colonies.
That campground looks just like the type you like, flat and open. :)
Enjoy your time there in Iowa, there's a lot to see and do.
Nice park. I hope you stay safe on your track west. Watch out for those Indians in the plains. You might have to circle the RVs...

We stayed here for one night as we traveled to Montana in 2008. Very nice area, and we also did a few geocaches in the area. At one of the cache sites there was a snake wrapped around a branch in a tree, when we saw that we decided we didn't need to fine it, enjoy. Have a great journey.
We were through that way a few years ago.. wish we had stayed longer and toured more, but my folks were in a hurry hurry hurry so we didn't get to see much!

Make sure to visit the Amana museums. They were an interesting group of people. We also enjoyed the wine tasting and micro brewery.
