Happy Mother's Day -- Parade of "campers"

(Cicero, IN) Hi 75 Lo 57 --  Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful mothers.  I hope you had a great day.

I got my coffee this morning and watched the RV's leaving, one after another. It was like a parade for a couple of hours. It's so much fun to watch. And when we think that most of them have to go to work tomorrow, it makes us appreciate our retired life. :)  Our neighbors next door with the four kids had all the chores divided up among them when they packed up. It was fun watching each one do their work then all pile in the car and leave. They had a truck and car to load up.

All that's left is a few tents down the road.

It was another beautiful day, so Jim decided to do some work on the hitch and kingpin. When we last unhitched, the hitch grabbed and didn't release like normal, so Jim cleaned some rust off the kingpin and sprayed it with lithium grease. He also decided to take the head off the hitch in the truck and see if it needed greasing. Most of the insides had lots of grease (the thick kind), but there were some springs and things that needed a good spray. He had trouble getting the head re-mounted. He had to provide downward pressure at the same time as he put in the retaining pins, and it ended up being a two person job. So I helped him and we both ended up looking like grease monkeys when we were done. Another job that he (we) now know how to do. :)

I worked on labeling pictures from the last couple of moves, and backed them up to the external drive. I also played games and read a few blogs. I'm so far behind I'll never catch up, so I'll just read what I can to see where everyone is located. I also got some messages out to some friends on Facebook who we hope to meet up with in our travels.

Bob and Marian came over late this afternoon for dinner. I prepared a "cowboy casserole" and Marian brought a fruit salad. It was such a beautiful evening that we ate outside on the picnic table. After relaxing after dinner we reluctantly had to say goodbye to Bob and Marian. Thanks guys for our time together. We'll see you again the next time we're in town.

I got most everything packed and stowed away for our move tomorrow. It'll be a quick "hitch-and-go" tomorrow morning, and we're only going about 180 miles, so we won't be in a real hurry to leave. The next two weeks will be packed with fun stuff, so stay tuned.

It really is fun to watch everybody leave the campground and know that you don't have to. I love being retired. And I'm like you, sometimes I get so far behind on blogs that I just have to start new and hope it makes sense.

I wanted to see pics of the two greasemonkeys! (you could always set the camera on "timer" and get you both at the same time)

Shalimar, FL  (Hi 64  Lo 40)   This week went so slow. When you're retired the days get all mixed up and some go so slow you skip a day...
