An Afternoon in Hannibal

(Moscow Mills, MO) Hi 61 Lo 45 -- One of the nice things about coming to this area to visit my sister and mom is, we usually get in a trip to Hannibal, MO, home of Mark Twain, and the setting for Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. We picked up mom and went to Hannibal today to visit with RV friends Ed and Marilyn, and Ken Frericks came across the river from Quincy, IL to join us. We all met at Ed and Marilyn's beautiful Mobile Suites fifth wheel at Mark Twain Caverns and RV Park. They workamp here in the spring and fall months, where they get to spend time with their grandkids, then travel during the summer in Colorado and spend the winters in SouthWest. We plan to go to Colorado Springs this summer and we're hoping to meet up with them at that time.

It was cold today (in the 50's!), so we sat inside their rig and talked for awhile, then went across the highway to the Riverview Cafe for lunch. It was a wonderful lunch. Ken had to leave for an appointment soon after we ate, but the rest of us stayed a couple hours and shared stories about life on the road.

There was a nice patio that looked out on the Mississippi River, but it was tool cool to sit out there.

Jim, Dee, Vena (my mom), Marilyn and Ed. Ken had already left for his appointment. But we'll get to see him again, along with his wife Cindy, tomorrow.

We dropped off mom back at Sis's house and came home for another restful evening. Another wonderful day with friends and family.

How great is that! We love telling stories about our travel experiences. Some of them funny and some not so funny. We love the life...
