First, my tooth didn't keep me awake last night, which was surprising for how bad it hurt yesterday. I used warm salt water, peroxide, and even sensodine toothpaste and it calmed down. I ate ok today, so luckily it's ok.
Second, I've had a few inquiries about mom and how she's doing. She's doing very well and the new doctor she saw yesterday took her off one med and put her on half pills for another. Her heart is as strong as a 60-year old's (she's 88). She's doing well and into a routine with my sister. Thanks sis. I'll give updated information occasionally.
We had a salad potluck lunch at noon in the clubhouse. It's our first one since we've been here and the salads were super! Even Jim liked it, and he's not a big "green" food lover. :) I took a broccoli salad and there was only one other salad there that was almost like it. I was surprised there's so many different salads and how good they all were. We'll do that again next month.
Someone brought in a couple of old popup Valentine cards from the 1800's. They were in really good shape.

On Wednesday afternoons there's a Bible study, and up to now we've either forgotten it or we weren't around for it. Today we finally joined the group in the clubhouse for a lively discussion of Ephesians. We really enjoyed and we plan to attend each week whenever we can.
Jim has been having a lot of trouble starting the truck. The battery has been losing its charge while sitting. Today it didn't start so we jumped it again (another reason to have a second car), then he took it to a nearby Advance Auto Parts store to have them check it on their machine. Both batteries were in bad shape. They're about five years old, which is about the normal life span for original batteries. He bought two new ones, so we're in good shape for a few more years.
Jim connecting battery cables to jump his truck. We're glad we have two vehicles.
I sat outside reading blogs till Jim got back, then we both did our walk around the park. I need to do more walking. I go a couple days without doing it then walk a couple days then give up. I was going to go to the pool but all the chairs were taken so decided against it. It's been so warm we keep forgetting it's winter. The rest of the nation looks like it's been a lot warmer too.
We have to get up early tomorrow morning for a day trip to Orlando. More about that in tomorrow's blog.

Why would you not go to the pool because of the chairs? I'm just curious, not trying to be snotty.
To answer Judy/Emma: I love sitting out in the sun if I get wet. I try not to become a prune by staying in the water too long.
Surprising how good the Sensodine tooth paste works we use it all the time. Nice to hear that you enjoyed the salad potluck, I always enjoy trying different things would be right up my alley.
Glad your mom is doing well. She has come through a lot.
Yes we have had great weather here in Texas. When we were in South Louisiana we had great weather. We have been real lucky with the weather so far but I know we will have some cold weather before this winter is over.
